Frequently Asked Questions

1What is Espresso?
Espresso is a strong, concentrated form of coffee that originated in Italy. The brewing process involves taking water that is slightly below a boil (around 190 °F) and forcing it through finely-ground coffee beans under high pressure. The unique method used when brewing espresso gives us a strong cup of coffee with 3 distinct phases - the oil droplets, suspended solids, and a layer of foam. The key difference from other coffees lies in the oil droplets that preserve some of the “scents” of the beans, resulting in a richer and stronger coffee flavor. A good cup of espresso is much higher in caffeine per ounce than a normal cup of coffee. Our finely ground espresso blends are perfect for coffee lovers looking for a strong cup to start their day. We also offer bulk savings, so you can reach more customers and grow your business at a price that suits your pocket!
2What are the benefits of Whole Beans?
Whole beans are perfect for those who are looking for a more robust, flavorful, and aromatic cup of coffee. Instead of grinding the coffee beans into ground coffee, the full beans are roasted and packaged to be ground at home. Doing this does two things, it locks in the flavor of the beans during shipment, and it increases the shelf life of the beans. Ground coffee is exposed to more air and light than whole beans and therefore loses some of its flavors. By keeping the beans whole, and only grinding them before adding the boiled water, we ensure a deliciously fresh cup with a full flavor profile.
3How is Our Decaffeinated Coffee achieved?
Our decaf coffee is decaffeinated using the Swiss Water® Process. This is a clean decaffeinating method which uses 100% green coffee extract and carbon to filter the caffeine out. This method ensures only caffeine is removed to keep the original quality of the beans intact.
4How Can you Tell if Coffee is Bad?
The best way to tell if coffee has gone bad is the smell. If the coffee no longer has a pleasant aromatic smell if is most likely bad. The flavor will have been lost as well.
